Probably overstruck with the undertype (reverse) of previous strike accidentally appearing as a headdress on the later overstrike (obverse).

  siliquae 9. July 2014, 07:37

This coins is probably a modern forgery. Several die-identical pieces have been offered on Ebay in 2013 and 2014 - often by known "fake-sellers". The Ebay examples have usually fetched prices between USD 400 and 800.

What appears to be exactly this same coin is being auctioned on August 2, 2014 at CNG/St. James's in Chicago amid the Lissner collection. The intense marketing around such an event prompted the grading to raise from “almost extremely fine” to “mint state” and its estimate from 1,500 GBP to $ 10,000.
Grading is a matter of personal opinion, good faith of course is not questioned, and prices are determined by the market, but I wonder whether labels and commercials, rather than coins, are sometimes offered.
