Looks cast.
  Pscipio 26. Mar. 2016, 17:51

Too soft and the weight way too low, so most likely a cast forgery.

Half Reale shown in slab is incorrect Reign, period and assayer. This is Philip IV, Assayer "D" of 1621- 1634. Assayers name is unknown.
Not surprising NGC got it wrong, again....

Stack' Bowers withdrew the coin from the auction, because it is a modern fantasy fake. Silver coins of Childebert I exist, but their style and fabric is completely unlike the present piece.
  Tejas554 24. Mar. 2016, 19:42

Modern fantasy forgery.

Typographical error...year 19149. It probably should read 1914 or 1919.

My name is Ashley Meacham and I am the owner of one of these coins. I have owned the coin for 9 years and only today found out it's origin from Bill Welch. It is my favorite piece of Jewelry and would like to know more. Please advise: ameacham4usr@gmail.com Many thanks.
