"Aus Sammlung Fürst Waldeck," per Münzen und Medaillen 38 (6 Dec 1968), Lot 456 (hors catalogues; presumably private purchase c. 1930s from Münzhandlung Basel/H.A. Cahn, as were several others of Voirol's ex-Waldeck coins).

This coin illustrated in P.F. Mittag's (1994) article, “Kaiser oder Philosoph? Kurze Bemerkungen zur Münzprägung Marc Aurels” (SNR 73: 61-74; Taf. 1, 2, this reverse).

This is RIC 271 (16Fa) with a draped bust and the legend SER GALBA IMP CAES AVG TR P. It can be die matched to a Sestertius sold by The Coin Cabinet, The Euclidean Collection (28 March 2024), Lot 70 that clearly shows that the bust is actually draped. Note that The Coin Cabinet example is also misattributed, this time as RIC 262, but that issue has a completely different legend than the coin pictured.

Note also that Michailovich bought the Giel collection en bloc in the 1890s, supporting the cataloger's hypothesis. See Vladimir Stolba (2005), "Russian Private Collections of Greek Coins from the Black Sea Region: The Case of Grand Duke Alexander Michailovich (1866-1933)," p. 121-3.

The mint for the autonomous coins of Hermione up until 1871 was misattributed to three other mints including Eretria, Euboea (Domenico Sestini) ; Orchomenus, Boeotia (British Cataloguers); and Eresus, Lesbos (T. E. Mionnet - and French cataloguers. F. Imhoof- Blumer made the correct attribution in 1871. Earlier English cataloguers and numismatists were not comfortable on stylistic grounds with the Orchomenus attribution.

All known specimens of this type with a stephaned bust are the product of a single obverse die. Comparison to other known specimens indicates this coin has been tooled to add details not present originally. See: https://www.ma-shops.com/kornblum/item.php?id=220121011
